Nervous' Alex Rodriguez cheered

TAMPA, Fla. -- In his first appearance in a New York Yankees uniform in 17 months, Alex Rodriguez was cheered when he stepped out onto the field with his teammates shortly before noon, and he was cheered again when he came out of the dugout for batting practice about an hour later.
The crowd ooohed and aahed when the ball seemed to jump off his bat, and applauded when three of the 36 swings he took resulted in baseballs landing beyond the fence.
In fact, Rodriguez was one of only two uniformed Yankees to draw any measurable response at all from a meager crowd of about 500 at the Yankees first full-squad workout on Thursday at Steinbrenner Field.

Baseball - Playoffs...Do you care?

What has happened to the MLB?

Is it all the same as the last few years?

Has the start of the NHL and then NBA overshadowed the MLB?

Clearly the NFL rules, but the violence and head injuries are going to have a major effect on their future.

So where is Baseball today?

Dwightmare is now Rocket Man

Failure to Launch

Houston we have a problem...

Kid is all about himself....

Enjoy Houston, Dwightmare is just another coddled overrated ath-a-lete whose forgot to learn fundamentals.

Did not want to work with Kareem?

Thinks he is gonna learn the Dream Shake?

Dwightmare better learn to keep the ball above his head - period, the rest will follow.
He is gonna not win his way....

Lets see the Lakers win more games this year by subtraction .

Adios Dwightmare...Soap opera over....

Dwightmare to Houston...Please!!! say Laker Fans?

Dwight is about Dwight.....He can go anywhere for nearly the same $$....
So it comes down to control, Dwight wants D'Antony, Dwight wants, Dwight wants...
Team KILLER. Very immature!

 (We= Laker Fans)

We want Dwight to learn to not bring the ball down every play like an 8th grader!
We want Dwight to get a Guru to teach him how to make FT.
We want Jeanie Buss to take over the Lakers, we think Jimmy is so control
hungry .....he got rid of tradition, employees  etc to try to win himself...

Oh and Nash needs to follow Jason Kidd into retirement!

J Hill can play center and maybe we can get the machine and Mbenga back....

Spurs take first game in South Beach....

Triple Double and a loss. Were the Heat tired from the 7 game Pacer series?

So the question is, how do you measure value on the court?
Leadership was clearly shown by Tony Parker!
He scored 21 added to 12 points from assists = 33
Lebron scored 18 added to 20 points from assists =38.
SO you have Lebron responsible for point guard numbers plus
PF 18 Rebounds. Matched by Timmie's 14 Rebounds
So that is a wash...Sort of neutralizes the "Kings" influence.

Spurs will hit more shots in Game 2, but will Riles get Lebron to post on the box?
Will he get Bosh to stay in for more than 5 rebounds?

The bottom line is either Lebron understands he is a PF and NOT a PG....
or ....who knows

Wade's leg has made him look like Kobe before the German Knee procedure....
I expect Wade will be in Germany after the season.

Looks Like Ryan is going down with the J-E-T-S

Mark Sanchez had his third consecutive horrendous start for the Jets, going 13-for-29 for 103 yards and one interception against the 49ers. He has now completed only 49.2 percent of his passes this season with five touchdowns (three were in Week 1) and four picks.
Despite that, and the presence of Tim Tebow behind Sanchez, Rex Ryan said Monday that Sanchez is "definitely our guy."

Tell the Lakers to keep Drew and let Dwightmare hang in the wind!

Who would you rather have? Bynum is more talented and fragile....

Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum

NBA's 2012-13 schedule: 10 games to watch

The NBA released its 2012-13 schedule on Thursday, and it's packed with plenty of attractive storylines. No game, however, figures to draw more attention than when LeBron James and the defending champion Miami Heat play Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers' new point guard on Jan. 17 in L.A.
Steve Nash and the Lakers open the season against the Mavs on Oct. 30 (AP)Bryant says he hasn't played with a real point guard since he teamed with Nick Van Exel from 1996-98. He'll now play with one of the best in Steve Nash. Nash's playmaking skills also should benefit the Lakers' 7-footers, Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum.
James is still the world’s best player, and in addition to Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, he now has Ray Allen on his side. And if the Lakers acquire Dwight Howard in a trade before this game? That's one more big star to command attention.
Time will tell if this is an NBA Finals preview or merely the most-hyped game of the season.
Here's nine other games worth watching in the 2012-13 season:

This is what the Olympics mean to me...

( The IOC appears to simply be the sports arm of the United Arab Nations (UN)...They buckle to the Arabs...becasue they are scared of losing oil...)

The International Olympic Committee never disappoints. If it can be wrongheaded, misguided or just plain out of touch with the world, then by golly it will be. It is vain, corrupt and elitist, qualities that are unattractive in a person and intolerable in an entire group of them.
But every now and then the IOC surpasses even itself in sheer . . . I can’t think of a printable word. “Idiocy” is too soft, but this is a family newspaper. What now? IOC President Jacques Rogge refuses to allow a moment of silence during Friday’s Opening Ceremonies in London for the 11 Israeli athletes and coaches slain 40 years ago.
